Bloomberg’s Lindsay Pollock reports Shaquille O’Neal, the 7’1” all-star center with the Cleveland Cavaliers, takes a shot at art. O’Neal is now a curator, overseeing “Size DOES Matter”, an exhibition on the theme of scale in contemporary art. The exhibition will take place in February at New York ’s non-profit Flag Art Foundation. The show will include 39 artists and 52 artworks, five of which are commissions. Featured artists include Ron Mueck, Maurizio Cattelan, Andreas Gursky, and Paul Pfeiffer. O’Neal selected the works with the help of Flag’s director Stephanie Roach.
O’Neal told Bloomberg “It was a little harder than I thought it would be. When you think about what each of the artists put in to their work, what they are expressing and want to share with the world, you feel bad about having to narrow it down.”
