Last summer, Clarke Art Consulting reported Sarah Jessica Parker to produce “Work of Art: The Next Great Artist”, an hour-long creative competition series bringing together 14 aspiring artists to compete for a solo show at a nationally recognized museum and a generous cash prize.

“Work of Art: The Next Great Artist” is here.  The new season began airing in June. Viewers are getting a first-hand look at artists at work in the studio and their daily grind of trying to break into the art world.

I’ve been waiting for a show like this for a long time now. So far I think it’s great what they are doing. The challenges are exciting and fun.
I like Miles and his sense of ownership of the stuff he does.
I don’t agree with how the show characterizes the art world because someone can be a great artist with no knowledge about sculpture, and in the show they are making them do every technique. I’ll keep watching hoping for more seasons to come.

  2. I somewhat agree with you in regards to the show not truly characterizing the art world. The art world is vast, volatile and finicky. The show does demonstrate how artists have to present themselves and their work to numerous art professionals to get that “big break”. But, the criticism of the show’s judges should not be voice of every art professional. The show is certainly for entertaintment purposes.
